In July this year we wanted to see some classic action & adventure movies. I invited my friends to watch Saving Private Ryan in the OASIS PC Internet Cinema. We stood in line for tickets and then three policemen ran into the cinema.
Someone from the cinema staff rushed to the door to get them out. Everyone was really worried at this point because they were not familiar with the film. The policemen got the men from the film to come out.
It was then that they turned and saw the line of us waiting and they gave up. They walked out. We saw that we were quite a spectacle so we all had a good laugh I have no idea why they ran us out, but I think we might have made them feel really silly.
The other films were good. I'd like to say a big thank you to the staff. They were kind and very willing to help us any time. We were actually a bit concerned for the safety of the children during the evacuation - it was very chaotic.
But when we arrived at the reception, everyone was very friendly. They told us we could stay in our cars, and a volunteer came round to take temperature, although I really think it was just to make sure we weren't infectious.
In the end we stayed for quite a few days, mostly because we didn't want to leave, and we wanted to make the most of the day. We would go back to our base to get some lunch, then go out and explore for a while.
We stayed in town until we had no choice but to leave, and it was sad to say goodbye. The people of the town have been extraordinarily welcoming and kind, and we hope we've got to know a few of them.
This was a tough time for us, to be so far away from home, but I wouldn't be without our little troop of children we've called our own for the last 15 months. We couldn't have stayed in the UK with out them.
